Obituary of Whitfield Allison Mannett

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Whitfield "Ducky" Allison Mannett of St. Martins, husband of Gwen (Bennett) Mannett, which occurred on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, NB, he was a son of the late Wallace and Ethel Mannett. He was employed with the NB Department of Transportation as a utility operator. He was a member of Saint John no. 2 A.F. & A.M. Masonic Lodge for 30 years, St. Martins Concerned Citizen Group and Cup 1190. Besides his wife he is survived by two sons: Scott Mannett (Corinne) and Jonathan Mannett (Julie); six sisters: Patricia Nelson, Marilyn Rogers, Carol Benjamin (Cheslie), Edna French (Robert), Brenda French (Theodore) "Rocky", Rhonda Foster (Steven); two brothers: Elwood Mannett (Eldenes) and Barry Mannett (Mary Jane); three grandsons: Ryan, Ryley and Grayson; several nieces and nephews. Besides his first wife Dale (Gillcrist) Mannett and parents he was predeceased by one sister: Blanche Almon; one brother: Winston Mannett. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (637-7424) with visiting on Saturday & Sunday, March 24 & 25, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A funeral service will be celebrated on Monday, March 26, 2018 from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel at 12 noon. Interment will take place in Mosher Hill Cemetery. For those who wish remembrances to Children’s Wish Foundation or Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation Oncology Department would be appreciated by the family.
