Obituary of Lynda Marie Caissie

With broken hearts, the family of Lynda Caissie announce her passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital after a period of illness. Born February 16, 1952 in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late Alyre and Margaret (Bowes) Goguen. Lynda loved going to BINGO, playing darts, and spending time with her special friends: Crystal, Dianne, Barbara, Lois, Janet, Jean Guy, and Mary. Time spent with family (especially her grandchildren) was so precious to her. She was the North End’s neighbourhood grandmother, babysitting most of the kids that grew up around her house, and she was the very best "Cheer Nana" her grandchildren could ask for. Lynda will be missed by her adopted son, Richard Lee (Wanda); sons, Ronald (Leslie) and Roland (Crystal) and their father Bernard Caissie; daughter, Cindy Caissie-Vautour (Denny) and her father, Dave Stoddard; grandchildren: Tre, Cameron, Dana, Marlee, Caleb, Ricky, and Chantelle; brother, Francis Charles Goguen (Nancy) of California; brother-in-law, Murray Garnett; and several special nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her adopted grandson, Adrian; brother, Robert "Bobby" Daniel Goguen; sister-in-law, Joan Goguen; and sister, Lenora Garnett. The family would like to thank the staff of the SICU for their exceptional care and compassion in Lynda’s final days. Your thoughtfulness will not be forgotten. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Pius X Church on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at 10 am. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to Heart and Stroke Foundation, Kidney Foundation, or Joshua Group would be appreciated by the family. www.brenansfh.com.
