Obituary of Mark Kevin Huestis

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Mark Kevin Huestis announce his passing on May 20, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born in Saint John on August 4, 1950 he was a son of the late Wendall and Louise (Ring) Huestis. Mark was a proud graduate of St. Malachy’s High School, class of 1967. In fact, he was second in line to the valedictorian. He was known to all as an avid Boston Red Sox fan. He also loved spending time at Tim Horton’s with his step-son, John and best friend Peter Mortimer. He will be missed by all who knew him. Mark will be lovingly remembered by his step-son, John Masten; sister, Susan Toner (Mark) and brother, Norman Huestis; nieces, Heather Dawson (Joel) and their children, Thomas and Evan and Heidi Woodcock (Mark) and their twin children, Megan and Kyle; as well as several cousins. In addition to his parents, Mark was predeceased by his infant sister, Judith Anne. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visitation on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 from 4:00-8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at 10:00 AM from St. Pius X Parish Church, 316 Somerset Street. Interment to take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. The family has requested, in lieu of flowers, and to help with funeral expenses, donations may be made to A Living Memorial which can be placed at the funeral home.
