Obituary of Anna Claire Myles

With appreciation for a life well lived, the family of Anna Claire (Mott) Myles, wife of the late John (Jack) Robinson Myles, announce her peaceful passing on December 19, 2019 surrounded by her loving family.

Born on January 11, 1922 in Saint John, N.B., she was the daughter of the late Claire and Lillian Mott. After graduating from Saint John High School, where she played violin in the orchestra and was an enthusiastic badminton player, she studied business at Mount Allison University in Sackville, N.B. Upon her graduation, she used her business skills in her father's architectural firm.

In 1946, she married Jack Myles. Over the next four years they lived in Winnipeg while Jack attended university. Ann worked at T. Eatons, continued her music studies and participated in competitive badminton. In 1950, she and Jack moved back to Saint John where they started their family.

Ann is survived by her daughter, Carolyn (Andy) Withers and their children Jennifer and Andrew of Rothesay, NB; a son, John (Natalie) of Victoria, B.C. and their children, Todd (Laura and their 3 children) of Kelowna, B.C. and Jeff of Sydney, Australia; her sister-in –law, Marjorie Ann Harvey of Grand Manan and a number of nieces and nephews. Her sister Jean pre-deceased her.

Ann's home for her last three years was at the Kings Way Care Centre where she received loving care from their staff and "Pip" the resident cat. A special thank you goes out to personal caregiver/friend, Lori Buckley who truly enhanced her experiences there.

Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). Visitation will take place on Sunday, December 22, 2019 between 2:00 - 4:00 PM. There will be a short graveside service at Fernhill Cemetery, 200 Westmorland Road, Saint John on Monday, December 23, 2019 at 11:00 AM.
