Obituary of Royston Thomas Williams

Williams, Royston T. – It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Royston “Roy” Thomas Williams husband of the late Caroline (Kearney) Williams, which occurred on Friday, February 14, 2020 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on March 2, 1935 in Cardiff, Wales he was the son of the late Thomas and Phyllis (Ringwood) Williams.

 

Roy was employed as a machinist at the Saint John Shipbuilding until his retirement. He was a founding member of council #8364 Knights of Columbus, was involved in their bingo nights and was a member of the soup troop for Romero House; he enjoyed camping at Three Bears Campground and meeting his buddies for a coffee at McAllister Mall.

 

He is survived by one son: David Williams; two daughters: Eileen Williams (Andrew) and Maria Morrissette (Todd) all of Saint John; six grandchildren: Jaden (Eric), Thomas, Kylie, Tylar, Travas and Zackary; one great-grandchild: Anastasia; nieces and nephews; his dog Odie.

 

Besides his wife and parents he was predeceased by one sister: Joyce Bridges.

 

Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424) with visiting on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 20, 2020 from Stella Maris Church at 10:00 am. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. The Knights of Columbus will be having a prayer service on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at 5:50 pm.
