Dorothy Alexander

Obituary of Dorothy Ann Alexander

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy Ann Alexander born July 27th, 1947. After a courageous battle with cancer, Dorothy has joined the Angels on December the 11th at Bobby’s House Hospice in Saint John New Brunswick.

Dorothy was the life of the party. She loved to sing and dance. She loved to float around the pool in the summer with a cocktail. She loved shopping. Dorothy shopped for everyone. She always had thoughtful gifts to give her friends and family. She loved her family so very much.

Dorothy never knew how beautiful she was inside and out. She always had to have her cover girl and “lippy” on. Her quick wit and humor made us laugh every single day. She loved to laugh. Dorothy’s laugh will always be remembered. Her laugh will always be heard.

We will always remember her when we hear the quote, “Love many, trust few, always paddle your own canoe.”

She was very proud to be #9 of her brothers and sisters:

Jean Forrest (Archie), Valerie Sproule (Fred), Irene Ruseff (Fred - previously deceased), Joanne Elward (Victor), Dennis Holden (Marilyn - previously deceased), Melbourne Holden (previously deceased), Reginald Holden (previously deceased), Benjamin Holden (Thelma), Debbie Titus, Donna Forgey (Ferd), Heather Maxwell, Linda Hyslop (Mack), Enid Legacy (Joey) previously deceased, Norma Chatterton (John), and Eric Holden.

She is survived by the absolute love of her life, Rod. Whom she was proudly married to for 51 years. They had two beautiful children, Jennifer Robley (Rob) and Matthew Alexander (Laura Williams). She was so very proud of her grandson Alex whom she referred to as her “Sweet Prince”. She loved her step- grandchildren: Aiden and Rachel Robley, Daniel and Ethan Williams. They loved their Nana Do. Dorothy loved all her nieces and nephews

We will all be lost without our rock and our funny gal, but she is now at peace and planning parties in heaven with her smiling Irish eyes.

The Family wishes to thank the staff at Bobby’s House Hospice, Dr. Julia Wildish, Dr. Ashley Wood, and Extramural nurse Katharine for their above and beyond care and compassion.

Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, N.B. (634-7424). In keeping with Dorothy’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service. Donations in memory of Dorothy may be made to Bobby’s Hospice or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
