Obituary of Donna Clark

Clark, Donna L. – After a very lengthy illness it is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Donna Lee Clark of Saint John, which occurred on Monday, December 21, 2020 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on July 30, 1958 she was a daughter of the late Edward L. and Margaret (O’Blenis) Clark.

Donna was a stay at home mother, raising her three children on her own. She enjoyed listening to country music and loved to sing (she could carry a tune like nobody’s business!) She read her Bible everyday and had a strong belief in the Lord. Her faith never wavered, even during her toughest moments. One of her favorite things to do was to sit in King's Square chatting with her friends and feeding the squirrels. Donna had a passion for learning about Native American culture and made several friends online that were more than willing to share their knowledge with her. Mom was an animal lover, and often referred to our pets as her fur grandbabies.

Mom’s laugh was so infectious! She had the kindest heart and the biggest smile.  She had so much love for her family and always tried to see the good in everything and everyone.

She is survived by two sons: Wayne (Kelli) Clark of Doaktown, Frankie Brideau of Saint John; one daughter: Katherine (Michel) Larocque of Saint John; one sister: Linda Clark (David) of Saint John; six grandchildren: Lisa, Andrea, Steven, Kayla, Amanda and Aleia; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins ,and her best friend Liz Naves, who was just like a sister to her.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by one sister: Debbie McLaughlin and her fiancée David Brent Edmondson.

The family would like to thank the staff of the SJRH for the care they gave to our mom during her final days, and a very special thank you to Cheyanne, one of her nurses in palliative care. The kindness and compassion you showed to our mother and to us will be forever appreciated.

To honour Donna’s request there will be no visiting or service. She will be laid to rest with her father in the spring. Remembrances to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
