Obituary of Phyllis Pearl Copp

 

With appreciation for a life well-lived, the family of Phyllis Pearl Copp announces her passing, which occurred on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Orchard View Long Term Care Home. Born in Olinville, NB on December 21, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Edson and Sadie (McCutchon) Donald.

 

Phyllis will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She was an active member of the Wesley United Church in Brown’s Flat and the UCW. She enjoyed volunteering for the Brown’s Flat Recreation Committee, and assisted with various programs held by the community.

 

Phyllis will be missed by her children: Heather Dunham (the late George), Kenneth Copp (Debbie), Susan Bartrum (Michael) and Stephen Copp (Catherine); her grandchildren: Dru Dunham (Tricia), Michael Dunham (Catrina), Chase Bartrum, Hailee Bartrum, Alexandra Copp, Zachary Copp, Meaghan Yeomans (Matthew) and David Copp; great-grandchildren: Lacey, Annika, Talon and Anna; siblings: Blanche McGowan, John Donald and Marion Makepeace; as well as many nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to her parents, Phyllis was predeceased by her husband Melvin H. Copp in 1990; her son Phillip Copp in 2020; as well as her siblings: Elsie Johnson, Alberta Lourie, Jean Beckett, and Charles Donald.

 

Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). A funeral service will take place on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at 1 pm from Brenan's Chapel, followed by interment in Wesley United Cemetery, Browns Flat. Due to COVID-19 health measures placed on indoor gatherings by the Government of New Brunswick, all those 12 and older attending the funeral service will be required to show proof of vaccination and a piece of government-issued ID, or proof of medical exemption.
