Obituary of Laurier Robichaud

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Laurier Joseph Wilfred Robichaud on July 7th, 2021, in his 91st year, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Laurier was born in St. Rose, New Brunswick on August 14th, 1930, to the late Willie and Hélene (nee Gognon) Robichaud.

Laurier will be greatly missed by his loving wife Laetitia (nee McGraw) of 65 years, sons Larry (Noreen) and Yvon (Irene), and daughter Laureen (Paul). Cherished grandfather to Bonnie, Holly, Laurelle, Hailey, William, Adam, Joshua, Myrissa; and great-grandfather to Brett, Keely, Kalob, Ava, Max, Ryder and Jordan. Adored brother of Anna, Marie-May, Bella, and Diane. Even though our hearts ache that Laurier is not with us, we are comforted to know that he will now join his daughters Patricia and Betty Lee, brothers Amie and Emery, sisters Yvonne and Celina and his parents Willie and Hélene.   Laurier will be sadly missed by his Brother and Sister-In-Laws, nieces, nephews and friends.

Laurier was a pioneer in the formation of the Labourers Union Local 900 in Saint John.  He was actively involved with the Saint John Cursillo and the Charismatic Christian Meetings.  Laurier’s life was filled with music, travelling in his motor home, and he especially enjoyed playing cards with his family and friends.

Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). A visitation will be held on Monday, July 12th from 2:00–4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 13th at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help (14 Almon Ln, Rothesay, NB) with intermittent following at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Donations in Laurier’s memory may be made to the Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation and Diabetes Association.
