Obituary of Allan Duplisea

With heavy hearts, the family announce the passing of Allan Duplisea, devoted husband of the late Bessie Duplisea (nee Astorino), on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at his residence in Rocmaura Nursing Home. Born June 13, 1932, in Tracy, NB, he was a son of the late Albert and Jemma Duplisea.

Allan was a Master Mechanic by trade, and had a wonderful career with CP Rail, retiring as the General Manager of Dominion Atlantic Railway. In his spare time, Allan was very active and could be found fishing, hunting, gardening, or power-walking his 10 km through Grand Bay each morning. He was an avid recycler and volunteered politically. Allan taught kayaking and ran the safety boat for a number of years. He was very family oriented with strong morals and did so many things for many individuals out of the kindness of his heart, always anonymously. Allan volunteered with the Alternative Measures Program assisting at-risk youth, and he will forever be remembered for his delicate Christmas egg tree ornaments that he spent many hours crafting and gifting to others.

A loving and doting husband to Bessie, he delighted in spoiling her and carrying her bags while she shopped. It was very important to Allan that he spend his retirement years tending to the housework and doing anything he could to make things easier on Bessie.

Allan will be missed by his children, Peggy Beaton and David Duplisea; grandchildren: Michael Beaton, Kristina Young (Evan), and Matthew Beaton; and great-grandsons, Bryson and Connor Young. Besides his parents and his beloved Bessie, Allan was predeceased by his son-in-law, Stephen Beaton; brothers, Harry and Purdy; sister, Florence; niece and goddaughter, Cindy Weir; and nephew, Ronnie Boyle.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Holy Spirit Parish- St. Matthew’s Worship Site, 45 Dollard Drive, on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at 10 am.
