Obituary of Kathleen "Sharon" Pledge

It is with much sadness that the family of Kathleen Sharon Pledge announces her passing which occurred on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at the Saint John Regional Hospital at the age of 79. She was born in Saint John on August 7, 1942 to the late John “Jack” and Phyllis (Stone) McCarthy.

Sharon will be missed by her beloved husband of 58 years, Douglas E. Pledge; her sons: Stephen (Deborah Hunter), Chris (Tara) and Ian (Rolande LaPointe); siblings: Kevin McCarthy (Sharon), Lorraine Osborne (Gary), Ann Brown (Larry) and Lesley “Chick” Johnston (Colin); as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Sharon devoted her life to her family and embraced the hockey mom lifestyle when her sons were growing up. She loved reading, researching genealogy, trailering with her family, and absolutely adored all dogs. She had fond memories of her summers at the family cottage on Treadwell Lake when she was young.
