Obituary of Jane Nelson

Nelson, Jane Marie (nee Kiley) -

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jane Marie (nee Kiley) Nelson who passed away peacefully at Bobby’s Hospice with family by her side on Tuesday, September 28th, 2021. Born on August 8th, 1947 in Saint John, NB she was the daughter of the late Leo Michael Kiley and Roberta Maye (McKinney) Kiley.

Jane was a devoted wife to her husband Walter Ronald Nelson of 53 years and a loving mother to her two daughters Kerrileigh Nelson (Stephen Smith) and Krystal Nelson of Rothesay, NB. The light of her life was her two beautiful grandchildren, Elizabeth Nelson (Olivia Teskey) and Conner Smith of Rothesay, NB.

She was predeceased by her sister Anne Eleanor Graves (Wilfred “Willie” Graves). She is survived by her brother Gerald (Gerry) Kiley (Marlene Kiley) of Sault Ste. Marie, ON; sister Mary Lee (Wayne Lee) of Saint John, NB as well as her loved and adored nieces, Deborah Duggan (Peter Duggan) of Clermont, FL and Lauran Kiley (Bill Coyne) of Ottawa, ON; nephews, Jordan Lee of Saint John, NB and Michael Kiley (Cathy Kiley), of Sault Ste. Marie, ON. 

The family wishes to thank the entire staff and volunteers at Bobby’s Hospice for their care, compassion and kindness. We deeply appreciate the attention and care that was provided to Jane and our family throughout her stay.

“Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard but always near. Still loved, still missed and forever dear.” We LOVE you!

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row., Saint John (634-7424). As per Jane’s request, there will be no visitation. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, October 2nd, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 31 Gondola Point Road, Rothesay NB E2E 5E4.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Canadian Diabetes Association, Bobby’s Hospice or donors’ choice.
