Obituary of Jerome Joshua Joseph Jones

With broken hearts the family of Jerome Jones of Saint John announce his untimely passing which occurred on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at the Saint John Regional Hospital at the age of 18.  Born on January 20, 2003 in Saint John, he was the precious son of Kelly Jones of Saint John and the late Troy Grant.

Jerome was an old soul who will be lovingly remembered for his big smile and for his ability to make everyone laugh.  He loved hanging out with his friends and would do anything for anyone.  Jerome enjoyed listening to music, taekwondo (where he won several medals), he had a great curiosity for history and science, was a straight A student and most importantly he took pride in always protecting his mother and brother.  He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him.

In addition to his loving mother, Kelly, he will be lovingly remembered by his siblings, Brayden, Austin, Mya and Karter; maternal grandmother, Gale Jones; maternal grandfather, Roy Jones (Sherry); paternal grandparents; Donnie Grant (Yvonne Theriault); aunts, Bonny Jones (Kenny) and Bernice Grant; uncles, Troy Jones and Lawrence Grant; special cousins, Destiny, Marcus and Angel; best friend, Keshawn Middleton; along with other members of his extended family and several friends.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) where visitation will take place on Sunday, October 24, 2021 from 12:00 - 2:00 PM with the funeral service immediately beginning at 2:00 PM all from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel.  For those unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed and can be viewed by visiting Jerome’s obituary on the Brenan’s Website.  Due to Covid-19 health measures placed on indoor gatherings by the Government of New Brunswick, all those 12 and older attending the service will be required to show proof of vaccination and a piece of a government-issued ID or proof of medical exemption.

For those who wish, remembrances made to a living memorial would be appreciated by the family.  Online remembrances and condolences may be placed at www.BrenansFH.com.

We will hold you in our hearts until we can hold you again in heaven.
