Obituary of Brenda Brown

With heavy hearts, but with joy for the time we had together, we announce the passing of Brenda Brown on Monday, November 29, 2021, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Brenda was the wife of the late Rory Brown, who predeceased her in May 2020. Born October 10, 1965, in Saint John, she was a daughter of Leonard and Carol (Bourque) Carvell.

Brenda met the love of her life, Rory Brown when she was just a teenager and they were married seven years later. Their love for each other was pure and indisputable.

She spent many days trying to persuade Rory to finish home renovation projects while she worked on one of her many thoughtful projects for others. He treated her like the beautiful and delicate soul that she was every single day.

Brenda's pride and joy in life was her family. Her children always came first. She loved being a mother and grandmother and lived to spend time talking to her family. She treasured every second together and loved chatting about life with them.

She was a constant source of love and support in the lives of everyone she cared about, too many people for one to attempt to list. Children were her whole world and she wasn't happy until she made every child smile and laugh that she crossed paths with.  Everyone was always treated as family in Brenda's house and she will be greatly missed.

Besides her parents, Carol and Leonard, Brenda is survived by her sons, Adam (Erin) of Summerville and Brandon (Melanie) of Alberta; grandchildren: Dante, Mikayla, Domenick and Fox; sister, Doreen Shannon (Sheldon); brothers, Darrell Connell (Bonnie) and Dwayne Connell; nieces and nephews; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and her fur baby, Molly the Pomeranian.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). In life, Brenda and Rory did everything together. In honour of this, the Liturgy will be in celebration of both of their lives. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 3, 2021, from 5 to 7 pm, at which time the Funeral Liturgy will be held in Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel.

Due to Covid-19 health measures placed on indoor gatherings by the Government of New Brunswick, all those 12 and older attending the visitation and service will be required to show proof of vaccination and a piece of government-issued ID or proof of medical exemption.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in Brenda’s memory to be given to Make-A-Wish or the IWK. Please place condolences and remembrances online at www.BrenansFH.com.
