Obituary of Alastair MacPherson

James “Alastair” MacPherson, age 90, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2021. Born in Saint John on October 14, 1931, Alastair was a graduate of Saint John High School and served as accounts manager at C. A. Munroe for many years. In his early days, Alastair was an avid hockey player and later distinguished himself on the badminton court. He was also a longtime member of the Men of Fundy Barbershop choir.  Alastair is pre-deceased by his wife Phoebe and is survived by his son Bruce and wife Susan (Robertson), his son Paul and partner Antoine Quenneville, and by his daughter Mary as well as by his grandchildren Ryan, Sarah, Alex, Emily and Rachael and by his great granddaughter Elle.

Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). With visitation being held on Saturday, December 11, 2021, from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and Sunday, December 12, 2021, from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Due to Covid-19 health measures placed on indoor gatherings by the Government of New Brunswick, all those 12 and older attending the service will be required to show proof of vaccination and a piece of government-issued ID or proof of medical exemption. A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 13, 2021, at 1:00 PM from St. Mark’s United Church (50 Dexter Drive). Interment will follow in Fernhill Cemetery.
