Obituary of Irene Cornish

It is with great sadness that the family of Irene Cornish, wife of the late Thomas Cornish, announce her passing at Tucker Hall in Saint John on Thursday, June 14, 2018. Born in Sunderland, England in 1926, she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lawson. Irene was a faithful member of Main Street Baptist Church and loved spending time with her friends in the Harrambee Group. The family would like to extend a sincere "thank-you" to her very good friend, Joan Gallop, of the Harrambee Group who Irene loved spending time with. Irene enjoyed life whether it was spending time with family and friends or playing with the dogs. She will be sorely missed. Irene will be missed by her sons, Brian Cornish (fiancée Loretta Allen) and Steven Cornish both of Saint John and her sister, Rita Thompson (the late Charles) of England. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sisters, Iris, Betty and Jean. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). In keeping with Irene’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Saint John SPCA.
