Obituary of Harold Leo Gould

Harold Gould went into God’s heavenly arms on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 with his family by his side at Bobby’s Hospice.  Born on August 15, 1942, he was a son of the late Joseph and Annie (Frozel) Gould.

He leaves behind his wife of 53 years Sandra (Stewart) Gould, five children: Cindy Gould, Jeff (Joanne) Gould, David Gould, Darren (Medlyn) Gould and Heather Gould, four grandsons: Dylan, Jacob, Matthew and Joshua Murphy, great grandson Karson Murphy, his brother Ron (Alice) Gould and sisters: Eva Titus, Kay Davis and Barbara (Mike) O’Brien, special grandchildren: Rebecca and Cathline Flint, Alyvia Davis and special great grandson Jacob Daigle, along with several nieces, nephews and members of his extended family.

Besides his parents, Harold was predeceased by his infant son Douglas, brother Edward, sister Patsy Tower and brothers-in-law Don Towers and William Stewart.

Harold was employed with Labatt Brewery for 32 years.  He loved going to his camp, boating and fishing.  His greatest enjoyment was anything to do with cars, whether fixing them up to resell, or helping others buy their next vehicle. Harold was kind, he was loving, he had lots of friends and was always willing to lend a helping hand.  He purchased a truck to make some extra money, but instead ended up with extra friends as he was more interested in helping others than he was charging for his services.  He will be missed by all who knew him.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) where visitation will be held on Friday, October 25 from 2-4 and 6-8.  A Funeral Liturgy will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Saturday, October 26 at 9:30AM with interment to follow at Ocean View Memorial Gardens.

For those who wish, remembrances to the Saint John Regional Hospital Oncology Department, Palliative Care or to Bobby’s Hospice would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences may be placed at www.BrenansFH.com.
