Obituary of Murray Douglas Cornfield

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Murray Cornfield, loving husband to the late Norma (Seely) Cornfield, announce his passing, which occurred on Sunday, March 8, 2020, at Kings Way Care Centre.  Born on October 10, 1930, he was a son to the late  Henry and Jessie (Gates) Cornfield.

 

Murray will be missed by his sons: Scott (Carol) Cornfield of Quispamsis and Grant (Joanne) Cornfield of Hampton, his grandchildren: Matthew Cornfield, Ashley Cornfield (Nick), Allison Cornfield (Justin), Stephen Cornfield (Erika), Jocelyn (Christopher) and Christine (Nathan), great-grandchildren: Kiera, Cole, Emily, Quinn, Mackenzie, Liam and Ace, along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and members of his extended family. 

 

Besides his parents and wife of 66 years, Norma, Murray was predeceased by his daughter, Lynn Cornfield, brothers: James, Andrew, Vernon, George, John and Harry Cornfield, sisters: Jessie Byers and Florence Lewell.

 

Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) where family and friends are welcome to visit on Thursday, March 12, from 2-4 and 6-8.  The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 13 at 12 Noon from Brenan’s Chapel with interment to take place at Cedar Hill Extension.

 

For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Canadian Cancer Society
