Obituary of Edith Mary Mullin

Mullin, Edith Mary “Edie” (née McCormick)–

Edie passed away peacefully on August 5th, 2021 with her family at her side. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, mentor, confidant, and friend. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph; her son William “Bill”; her parents and her many siblings. Edie was the last remaining sibling of a family of thirteen.

Edie will be remembered with abundant love by her son Thomas, his wife Anna-Marie; her two cherished granddaughters Tricia and Heather; her three great-grandsons Robbie, Xander and Gryphon; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. We have all been blessed with her in our lives for 98 years.

Edie’s first priority and love was to her family. She was such a dynamic woman who was not hesitant with her spirit to try new enterprises. She ran a very successful business (Bayside Taxi) in the parish of Simonds for many years. Edie loved to travel and went on many bus trips with friends and family. She was also an avid Bingo player, making many special friendships at the bingo halls. In Edie’s younger years she loved going to the casino and always came out a winner. She would go to the horse races with her son and enjoyed those afternoons with him. Edie had a passion for speaking for those who could not speak for themselves and used that skill to advocate for children with disabilities.

Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). In keeping with Edie’s wishes, a private graveside service will be held at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to a charity of your choice.

Rest now Edie – Thank you for letting us be a part of your life. You will be held in our hearts, our thoughts and in our memories forever.

We silently grieve, but we also rejoice for a life well lived, never far from our hearts.
