Obituary of Derrick Bernard Moses

The family of Derrick Moses of Saint John sadly announce his untimely passing which occurred on Monday, January 31, 2022 at his home.  Born on January 14, 1958 in Digby, NS, he was a son of Ronald Moses and the late Pauline (Francis) Winnie.

Derrick will forever be remembered for the love that he had for his family.  His children were his greatest accomplishments, and, in their eyes, he was the strongest man on earth.  Derrick took great pride in his dance moves...always thinking that he had real talent when it came to dancing.  However, in reality, his loved ones all knew he was a terrible dancer.  Derrick enjoyed fishing, “trying” to hunt and simply surrounding himself with those he loved.  He will be greatly missed.

Left to lovingly remember Derrick is his daughter, Kelly Moses (Kevin); sons, Derrick Tyler, Jordan Ells, Terrance Moses (Shannon) and Darnell Moses; sisters, Peggy Moses and Mary Jane Winnie (James); brothers, Ronald Moses (Marie), Calvin Francis (Joanne), Roger Moses, Murray Moses and Kelly Moses; precious grandchildren who brought a twinkle to his eye, Nigel, Brandon, Kyauna, Aliyah, Darius, Makhi, Lucas, King and Madilynn; as well as several nieces, nephews and dear friends.  Besides his mother, he was predeceased by his infant brother, Walter.

Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Friday, February 4, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.  A private funeral service will take place at a later date.  Due to Covid-19 health measures placed on indoor gatherings by the Government of New Brunswick, all those 12 and older attending the visitation and service will be required to show proof of vaccination and a piece of government-issued ID or proof of medical exemption.  For those unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed and can be viewed by visiting Derrick’s obituary on the Brenan’s website on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 2:00 PM.

For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Portage Atlantic or a charity of one’s choice.
