Gary Denton

Obituary of Gary Wayne Denton

Gary Wayne Denton was born on April 1st, 1953, in Saint John, New Brunswick. He was the son of the late Burnett and Laura Denton. Gary is survived by his sister Carmella Melanson (Laurie) and his brother Dexter Denton (Krista), as well as by several beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews. Besides his parents, Gary was predeceased by his wife Darlene Ann Winchester, and his brothers Melvin and Walter Denton. He was the glue that bound us together.

He will be dearly missed by his stepchildren Adam Winchester (Sabrina), and Amy Brothers (Joseph).

When Gary wasn't lending a talented hand to friends and family, he enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and story telling. He was known to be an amateur inventor; he loved experimenting with designs for different projects and making them a reality.

He was a member of Sheet Metal Workers International Association Local 437, as a welder and sheet metal fabricator. He worked at the Saint John shipyard and Avondale shipyard in Louisiana. In more recent years he worked with Fundy Ventilation.

Gary was happiest when spending time in New Orleans and Grand Manan with Darlene, his partner of 30 years. To keep busy after his retirement as Owner/Operator of Bowl-More Lanes, Gary enjoyed helping with the machinery at the other local alleys.  He was treated like family at King Pin Bowling in Amherst, Nova Scotia, visiting there often. He was forever an active member of the bowling community.

In keeping with Gary's wishes, there will be no service. The family will gather in the spring for a Celebration of Life to remember Gary and Darlene in their Happy Place.
