Parks: Winnifred Joyce “Winnie” (nee Gaynes)

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Winnifred Joyce “Winnie” Parks (nee Gaynes) announces her passing, which occurred on November 23rd, 2023, at the Loch Lomond Villa, with her family by her side. Born on January 11th, 1932, Winnie was a daughter to the late Michael and Winifred Gaynes (nee Love). She was the beloved wife of the late Ron Parks Sr. (2016).

Winnie worked at the Dominion Store for many years. She enjoyed bowling, most especially with her team – “The Ding-A-Lings”, and camping at TNT. Above all, Winnie cherished the time spent with her family.

Winnie is survived by her children, Patty (Greg) Fennell, Ronald (Donna Whittaker) Parks Jr., Sharon (Richard) Manuel, Judy (Brian) MacFarland, Dorothy (the late Carol “Joe”) Mallet, Michael (Susan) Parks and Kelly (Andrew) Murray, her 15 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, her brother Jack Gaynes, along with several nieces, nephews, members of her extended family, and her cherished friend Nora Kane. Besides her parents and adoring husband, Winnie was predeceased by her siblings Connie Gaynes, Peggy Evans, Dorothy McKeil, Harold Gaynes, and Michael Gaynes.  

Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home (506-634-7424), 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, where visitation will be held on Monday, November 27th, 2023, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, November 28th, 2023, at 12pm from Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 360 Dufferin Row, Saint John, with interment to take place at Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date.
