Obituary of Ernest Henry Day
Peacefully, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, on Sunday, November 26th, 2023, Ernest Henry Day passed away at the age of 83. Born in Saint John, New Brunswick on May 30th, 1940, he was the son of the late John and Mildred Day (nee Howel). Ernie was a colourful character with a unique sense of humour, who once had aspirations to be a stand-up comic. He was also a collector of autographed photographs from country singers, professional athletes, politicians, and more. And he loved to sing karaoke, grow flower gardens, and had travelled quite widely. Ernie was also a complicated guy. He had strong opinions on many subjects, and he didn't always get along with people. That was part of his story, too. But he will be remembered and missed by many, especially by his friends at RiverCross Mission.
A Memorial Service will be held at RiverCross Church, 61 Forbes Drive, Saint John, on Thursday, November 30th, 2023, at 11 am. A reception will immediately follow the Service.
