Obituary of Michael Herbert

The death of Christopher Michael Herbert of West Quaco occurred on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at the Saint John Regional Hospital with his loving wife, Michele, at his side.  Born on November 14, 1944 in India, he was the son of the late Christopher Alfred and Evelyn Herbert.

Prior to his retirement, Michael was employed as the Director of Finance with the Anglican Diocese of Ottawa.  Upon moving to West Quaco, he volunteered his accounting services at the Quaco Museum.  Michael was the true definition of a social butterfly, friendly to everyone he met and full of questions, as he wanted to get to know you.  He loved to travel and being outside in nature, where he especially enjoyed hiking, biking and kayaking.  He will be greatly missed.

In addition to his wife, Michele, Michael will be lovingly remembered by his sister, Margaret Thornes, four daughters, two step-sons and six grandchildren.

In keeping with Michael’s wishes, there will be no services held.  Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-643-7424).

In lieu of flowers, remembrances made to the ALS Society would be appreciated by the family.
