Obituary of Thelma Fay Branscombe

BRANSCOMBE, Thelma Fay

December 27, 1939 - December 31, 2023

The family of Thelma Branscombe is saddened to announce her passing which occurred on December 31, 2023, at the Saint John Regional Hospital in her 84^th year. Born to Elmer and Gladys (Nee Collins) Branscombe in Cumberland Bay; she eventually became a lifelong resident of the Stephenson Tower Residence.

Thelma is survived by her children Basil Branscombe (Susan), Sherry Branscombe, Kevin Branscombe (Kimberly), Everett, Wayne (Tania); her sister Elsie Duplessis of Saint John; her brother Donald Smith of Hamstead, England; her sister-in-law Elizabeth Byers (Mike); several grandchildren including a special mention to her eldest great grandchildren Kyle and Maria for all of their help throughout her life; great great-grandchild Harden (5th generation); and many extended family members and friends.  

Thelma was a devoted mother, loved by many friends—especially Maria Woods—and family. She was also a breast and thyroid cancer warrior.

Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424). A visitation will be held at Brenan’s Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 3, 2023, from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM.
