Obituary of Rev. Marshall Brenton Caldwell

With humble acceptance of God’s will, we announce the passing of Rev. Marshall Caldwell on January 25, 2024 with his loving wife Darlene (Johnson) at his side. He was 71 years old. Marshall was the pillar and guiding light to his family, daughter Tanya (Anthony), son Brenton (Sarah) and his much loved and cherished grandchildren Alexzandrya (Tyler) Henry, Jonah Caldwell, Jonathan Campbell, Makenna Campbell and Isaac Caldwell.

Marshall spent his entire life sharing God’s word and bringing people into the kingdom. He served as a counselor, assistant and lead pastor, Maritime Superintendent and served on multiple general boards and committees for the Pentecostal Holiness Church of Canada.

He was a country boy at heart and loved all things nature from sitting oceanside to watching deer with a Tim Hortons coffee in hand.  Family time and family gatherings is where he was the happiest. Marshall was lighthearted and enjoyed a good prank and teasing the ones closest to him.

Marshall is survived by his beloved mother Shirley Anne Caldwell (Leopold), brothers John (Glenna) Caldwell, Charles Caldwell, mother-in-law Jean Johnson, brother-in-law Fred (Monica) Johnson  and many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, special friend Ronald Cormier and his devoted dog Zuma.

He was predeceased by his father Clarence, father-in-law Ralph, uncle Carl, sister-in-law Connie and great grandchild baby M.

Arrangements are under the direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row 506-634-7424. A Going Home Celebration will be held at Crescent Valley Gospel Centre, 500 Somerset Street, Saint John, NB on February 10, 2024 at 2pm with a reception to follow. Interment at a later date. Donations in his memory can be made to the Canadian Lung Association, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Crescent Valley Gospel Centre or Saint John First Wesleyan Church.
