Obituary of Eileen Patricia Caissie

It is with much sadness that the family of Eileen Patricia Caissie wish to announce her passing at the Bonnyville Health Centre, in Alberta, on Thursday, January 25th, 2024. She was born in Saint John, New Brunswick, on October 9th, 1945 (a twin to Frances) to Rita (nee Housen) and Frank Morris.

Patsy attended school in Saint John, then moved to Alberta with her husband Robert and daughter Christine. There she lived independently until health and social issues caused her to transfer to assisted living and for the past 10 years to a Long-term Care Ward within the Bonnyville Hospital.

Patsy enjoyed travelling home to visit family and friends until her health prevented this. She is survived by her daughter Christine of Calgary, Alberta; her sisters, Fran Clements, Eleanor (John) Moore, as well as by several cousins, nieces, and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Robert (2004), infant son (1975), and brother Vincent (2003).

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Bonnyville Health Centre (date to be announced), and a Memorial Service will take place in Saint John, New Brunswick in late Spring.

Fran and family would like to extend heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the staff of LTC who cared for Eileen (as she was known in Alberta) over these many years.

A very “special” thank you to Dr. DeFrietas who “always” cared for Eileen with much compassion and respect; to her Pastor, Derrick, who visited her regularly; and most especially to her long-term caregiver Shauna Lunger who TRULY loved and cared for Eileen as though she were family.

Fran wishes to thank Amanda (Memento Chapel, Alberta) and Jacob (Brenan’s, Saint John) for their kind assistance and compassion.

Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Saint John, New Brunswick.
